ForwardKeys Connect allows you to configure data deliveries using any of the available cloud transfer methods in self-service mode. There are two options:
- creating the connector, then attaching views
- establishing the connection for a specific view
In this article, we will explain the first scenario. Before you start, make sure you are familiar with the basic concepts used across the ForwardKeys Connect platform concerning cloud transfers: connector, connection and delivery. We clarify them in the article What are connectors, connections and deliveries?
Create a new connector
We recommend this path if your organisation has multiple Connect users, some of them with the technical knowledge necessary to define a Connector and others responsible for creating custom views and deciding which data should be transferred where. It is also a good option if you want all your datasets to be delivered to the same directory.
- Go to Connector settings page under the user menu.
- Click on the ADD CONNECTOR button and select your preferred cloud transfer method from the dropdown. You can read about the modalities we offer here.
- A modal window will open and you will need to provide some details, which vary depending on the connector type you selected. Some setup may be also needed in your cloud environment (e.g. for AWS policy or Azure token). If you are not sure where to find the information you need, use the external links below this article.
- Once you save (if all the information is correct) a new Connector will appear in the list shown on the page.
Attach a data view to an existing connector
- Go to My workspace, find a view for which you wish to get transfers and open the page with its details. You can do it by simply clicking on a row or by choosing the Connect option from the three-dots menu.
- Click on the ADD CONNECTION button and under Choose existing connector select the Connector you previously created. A connection will be established, the initial data delivery will begin and future deliveries with new or refreshed data will be scheduled.
