You can download the data from the Connect platform in two ways:
1. Once you have saved your customised view, go to My workspace, and click on the three dots menu > "Download" next to your view. This functionality is available for the views smaller than 5GB and containing less than 50 million rows. If you need to get bigger files in CSV format, consider cloud synchronisation functionality.
2. If you only need to run a one-time analysis and, therefore, you do not need to save your view, you can download the data directly from the data preparation/ customisation page, as long as the view is small enough. If your custom dataset's size is smaller than 1 million rows (you can use the update count button below the table if you've just applied some changes and the row count is not shown), next to the Save button above the table you will find the download icon.
Once you request a download from Connect platform, the system will generate the CSV file for you and we'll send you a link allowing you to retrieve the file. Please, be patient, depending on your view's size and complexity, you may need to wait for the email to arrive.
Note that CSV download is not the most recommended data delivery method. It is usually quite time-consuming, especially for heavy files, and only allows you to get static data.
If you want to get your data in an external tool (even Excel), we recommend you connect it to our data warehouse, which will allow you to refresh your data each time that new information is added to your smart.
However, if what you need is to keep track of historical changes in your data or you are only looking for a one-time answer to a simple question, downloading a CSV file can be the best option.
