The preview data shown in the table is based on 5000 sample rows loaded from the data warehouse each time the screen is accessed for the given smart view.
In order to save you time and credits, while you are working on customising your view by modifying columns’ selection, granularity or filters, by default we apply these new criteria to the sample data already loaded, and not to the full dataset. This causes the preview to be significantly reduced or even empty when you apply new filters, which does not necessarily mean that in the dataset there are only a few or no results for your selected criteria - it only means that there are no, or few, results within the 5000 rows initially loaded.
If your preview is empty or very limited and you would like to view more results to make sure the criteria you have applied are correct, you can update it and we will reload the data applying the query you have built to the full smart master view. In this case, you will get, again, up to 5000 rows displayed in the preview.
Keep in mind that, because of how the sample works, sorting the table to see the top results within the full view isn't reliable. This also applies to viewing the oldest dates, which are likely not to be included in the sample.
We recommend that you save the view and then connect to it externally (using any BI tool, accessing via Snowflake or downloading it) or, if your view is small enough, download the results directly and then sort them in Excel.
If your sample preview only shows a few rows and you do not need to see more, but you would like to know how big your view really is at this moment - with the filtering criteria and column selection you have applied - you can request to get a new total count of rows that will be displayed on your demand below the table, as the number of rows in the custom view.
